Why a blog?

Some of you may say "why write a blog?" Well, I guess because I want somewhere to record random stuff that way I can look back at it. You should all know this is a private blog- no one else but you and a couple of friends can read it. And, I'm not putting any details like addresses or my name out there either.

What a relief!

This record of long hot days has finally held up somewhat.

Also, yesterday, I officially restarted my weightloss journey by enrolling in WeightWatchers through work. I bought lots of low point snacks. One of the snacks I bought today is called VitaTops... SO GOOD! Deep Chocolate was the flavor. If you get a chance, check them out.

Later, taters!

Check it out! I can update my blog from my cell.

Thai Spice and home business aspirations

Well, I finally tried one of the restaurants on my mental list. Thai Spice near my work. It was DEE-LICIOUS! I had lunch with an old friend who is going to start selling homemade cards which are BEAUTIFUL! Stay tuned for info about her so that anyone who is reading this can actually benefit from her creations. I will soon also start selling my homemade handy crafts. hee hee.

Another hot day! Yesterday was record-breaking in terms of heat. Also the death of two celebrities made it a day in history.

So, I'm working on my plan on doing my own part time thing from home. I have that desire to "create" things. Since I enjoy knitting and recently crocheting, I am going to start creating a few to sell. We'll see how it goes. I am excited about it, though. Stay tuned for details!!

For everyone who is reading this, have a great weekend!

It's an oven out there!

It is MAJOR hot outside. That in mind, I was trying to think of cool treats to enjoy to take the edge off the heat. It's supposed to be over 100 degrees today which means it will actually feel a lot hotter.

Couple ideas to "beat the heat!"
  • FROZEN GRAPES! My cousin told me about it and I've also read it somewhere else. They become kind of like a mini popsicle, if you will. Perfect treat and a way to conserve your grapes once you realize you might not finish them all.
  • HEY, THERE'S SOMETHING IN YOUR DRINK! Don't worry - it's just mint leaves frozen into your ice cubes. Another way to add a coolness to any drink since mint leaves give off a cooling sensation. Or you can probably (my theory) is mix up a batch of minty water by using a couple drops of peppermint extract in some water and freezing that into ice cubes. But you must use the fun-shaped ice cubes. No boring plain ones. ;)

Well, that's all I got for today, for now.

Sushi??

We attended the English assembly yesterday with two friends of ours. It was awesome! After that, we went to this new sushi place off of FM1960 by Eldridge called Choo Choo Sushi. It's this place you sit and a little conveyor belt passes in front of you and each guest with plates of sushi and you pick whichever one you want. The plates are color coded for prices. The place was pretty good. I'd try it again. :)

Here's a small video of the concept:
